80 million Americans are facing age-related mental declines and 80 million more are battling mental ailments, making brain health an important component of overall health. The prevention of mental decline, efficient diagnosis of ailments and treatment monitoring can have a major impact on society, both monetarily and culturally. Studies show that with proper treatment much of the mental decline associated with aging can be prevented or delayed, including the devastating, expensive effects of Alzheimer’s. Proper mental assessments are expensive and time consuming, making long-term screening unavailable to many. A scientific solution exists with EEG and MRI, but these are presently too specialist driven and expensive for everyday use. WAVi® products will provide this monitoring, using a quantitative method that highlights a condition specifically prior to symptoms when therapies and treatments are the most effective. The data acquired from the system will be structured for data mining—self-organized problem solving aimed at curing diseases like Alzheimer’s and testing pharmaceutical results. The system is low-cost, easy-to-use, and will aid physicians and wellness professionals in diagnosing, preventing, and treating mental disorders. WAVi intends to integrate the use of electronic medical records and the new world of personal health records into this data mining process. This will provide patients and clinicians with precision brain assessments so that physicians can embed brain functioning in all clinical decisions and patients can optimize their mental function throughout their lifespan. The optimization of brain function throughout the human lifespan represents a new age in medical practice and promises enormous opportunity for health and wellness in human populations. By bringing to market simple, cost effective measuring and evaluating techniques, WAVi plans to provide services so valuable to both the patient and the physician that our products will inevitability become the “best practice” in sectors of the healthcare market requiring brain monitoring.
